Renowned artist Ningura Napurrula is one of Australia's foremost artists. Her distinctive, dynamic, linear work further is enhanced by heavy application of paint. Australian Art Collector magazine (No.37) named Ningura Napurrula as one of Australia's most important and collectable artists. This painting depicts designs associated with Women's Ceremonies. The roundels depict the campsites and rockholes and the U shapes are the women. The site of Wirrulnga is associated with birth. At these sites spun hair-string is made to form nyimparra (hair-string skirts), which are worn during ceremony.
